We are proud to present our winter firearms auction with a very diverse grouping of firearms, swords, knives, bear traps, hunting and fishing licenses and other memorabilia. This grouping comes from several private collections from across the east coast and will be brought to auction on Saturday, December 18th starting at 10 AM.
The prized Adam Angstadt Kentucky Rifle (Lot 69) has been an eye catcher since the rifle arrived for sale. Adam is believed to have been the best gun maker in the Angstadt family from Berks County, PA. Carved from curly maple, the rifle has 11 silver inlays and a nice relief carving on the stock and a pierced finial brass patch box. This Kentucky holds a pre-sale estimate of $7,500.00 – $12,500.00.
A collection of nine Brand New, Unfired and Original Colt Sauer bolt action rifles (Lots 378-385) will be sold on the block Saturday morning. This collection has been privately held since the release date of the mid 1970’s and six of these rifles retain their original packaging and boxes. Each rifle model is a different caliber with two rare calibers being a .25-06 and a .458 Magnum. Beautiful high gloss finished stock and high polished barrels make these rifles a true collector’s piece.
Finally we are excited about a unique collection of Pennsylvania Hunting licenses dating from 1913 thru 1983 (Lot 59). At least one of every year is present and many years have multiples including resident, non-resident, alien, special and antler less licenses. This collection has taken many years to put together and has many scarce dates. The top two licenses in the group are the 1913 (with matching paper certificate) and the 1931 Alien license showing the state seal. These licenses are drawing in collectors from all across the states to see the fine examples this sale has to offer.
This auction also consists of 50 lots of accessories/memorabilia, 10 lots of bear traps, 10 lots of licenses, over 20 lots of Kentucky Rifles, over 20 lots of early muskets, over 50 lots of side by side shotguns, over 75 lots of antique and modern pistols and over 150 lots of various hunting and military rifles.
