Marketing Assistant

Morphy Auctions in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania & Las Vegas, Nevada, has become one of the great success stories of the high-end antiques and collectibles trade. Founded by Dan Morphy in 1997, Morphy’s has realized tremendous growth and set numerous auction world records in many categories, all while attracting a global following of buyers that grows with each successive sale.

Our company is seeking a Marketing Assistant to add to our staff at our Denver, PA location. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing. We are looking for a person that is creative, forward-thinking and organized.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for Director of Marketing
  • Social Media
    • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, benchmarking and audience identification
    • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, and video) for maximum exposure
    • Moderate and respond to audience engagement
    • Create and implement a social media editorial calendar
    • Track and report campaign results
    • Work with experts/sales team to identify highlight pieces for promotion – communicate these to Director of Marketing
    • Develop standards and monitor experts/sales team’s personal social media as it relates to the business
  • Tradeshow Support
    • Represent Morphy Auctions at identified shows to promote the company
    • Prepare and gather materials for sales/experts to take to shows
    • Booth display standards evaluation and maintenance
  • Database Entry within multiple database systems
  • Strategic Brochure Distribution
    • Research and contact show promoters
    • Send appropriate materials to unattended tradeshows

Skills & Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, business or related field
  • 3 years of experience in business social media, marketing, or related area
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Computer competency including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Some travel may be required
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation and communication skills

Shipping Associate

Our company is expanding once again and in need of a full time Shipping Associate to add to our growing staff at our Denver, PA location. The candidate will be responsible for daily packing and shipment of items following a live auction. Applicants must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, able to work independently and work within an inventory database system. Occasional weekends will be required.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Pack and ship items using Morphy Auction’s packaging standards. This includes firearms, advertising signs, toys, pottery & other antiques
  • Organize equipment used in shipping department. This includes organizing bins and boxes used for storage, and disposing of empty packing boxes.
  • Assist during auctions including online bidding platforms, clerking, handling consignments and other tasks

Potential secondary responsibilities:

  • Assist with pulling orders from our gallery display cases to our shipping department
  • Process orders through our Fed Ex system
  • Travel and labor for consignment pick ups
  • Support unpacking collections for expert evaluation

Skills/Requirements:

  • Positive attitude, pride in personal and work environment appearance
  • Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Punctuality
  • Computer fluency (Excel, data entry, database, general operation)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Trainability
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals from varying backgrounds and positions within and outside the company
  • General knowledge of antiques is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Lifting of items overhead
  • Move items using a dolly
  • Ability to work on a ladder
