Photographer

Founded by Dan Morphy in 1997, Morphy Auctions has realized impressive growth and set numerous auction world records in many categories, all while attracting a global following of buyers and consignors.

Our company is in need of a full time Product Photographer to add to our Denver, PA location. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is ready to make a career decision to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have prior product photography experience, knowledge of digital SLR cameras, experience working in Adobe programs and the ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and work well with tight deadlines.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Photograph incoming inventory
  • Upload and rename images to our server database
  • Maintain organization standards within the warehouse inventory system
  • Follow photography department guidelines and standards

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or higher in photography
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use Digital SLR cameras
  • Understanding of studio strobes
  • Must submit portfolio of work

Customer Service Representative

Founded by Dan Morphy in 1997, Morphy’s has realized meteoric growth and set numerous auction world records in many categories, all while attracting a global following of buyers that grows with each successive sale.

Our company is in need of a full time Customer Experience Associate to add to our staff at our Denver, PA location. The candidate will be responsible for acting as a liaison between our customers and the company. We are looking for a person that can integrate skills in communication, computer applications, teamwork, and elevate our customer experience standards, and proactively seek to develop relationships with customers to create an atmosphere that delights customers worldwide!

Primary responsibilities:

  • Manage customer needs, including but not limited to, incoming calls, customer service inquiries and all related support questions
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Maintain and update customer account information
  • Participate as an active team member in an array of different auctions
  • Some travel required to trade shows for various categories of antiques and collectibles to support the Sales Team in relationship development, contracts and collection acquisition.

Shipping Associate

Our company is expanding once again and in need of a full time Shipping Associate to add to our growing staff at our Denver, PA location. The candidate will be responsible for daily packing and shipment of items following a live auction. Applicants must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, able to work independently and work within an inventory database system. Occasional weekends will be required.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Pack and ship items using Morphy Auction’s packaging standards. This includes firearms, advertising signs, toys, pottery & other antiques
  • Organize equipment used in shipping department. This includes organizing bins and boxes used for storage, and disposing of empty packing boxes.
  • Assist during weekend auctions including online bidding platforms, clerking, handling consignments and other tasks

Potential secondary responsibilities:

  • Assist with pulling orders from our gallery display cases to our shipping department
  • Process orders through our Fed Ex system
  • Travel and labor for consignment pick ups
  • Support unpacking collections for expert evaluation

Skills/Requirements:

Firearms Expert/Cataloger

Our company is expanding once again and in need of a full time Firearms Expert/Cataloger to add to our growing team at our Denver, PA location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Confirmed knowledge of a broad range of firearms and related accessories, preferably all eras, especially Civil War and later or modern era 1898 or later
  • Process firearms into the consignment pipeline using Morphy auction compute system and FFL database
  • Research technical and descriptive details on each firearm using resources and databases available at Morphy and your own experience, ingenuity, discipline and drive
  • Complete descriptions and estimated values (low to high auction sale) according to Morphy standards
  • Meet quality standards and schedule deadlines through productive completion of descriptions
  • Edit catalogs for accuracy and content prior to Morphy IT posting catalog files online and Marketing sending files to print
  • Support auctions through a variety of customer interactions: answering questions sent in in all formats, supporting preview by visitors, active involvement in the auction transaction process, etc.
  • Support sales / acquisition team in the field at consignor locations and gun shows with answers to questions and research needs
  • Travel – little to none, possibly some local guns shows or consignment pickups
  • Position reports to General Manager – Firearms

Operations Associate – Las Vegas

Morphy Auctions in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania & Las Vegas, Nevada, has become one of the great success stories of the antiques trade. Founded by Dan Morphy in 1997, Morphy’s has realized meteoric growth and set numerous auction world records in many categories, all while attracting a global following of buyers that grows with each successive sale. Our Las Vegas location specializes in coin-op & gambling, advertising, and gas & oil automobilia. However, we will often hold auctions of other categories in the facility including: firearms, jewelry, fine and decorative arts, and more.

Our company is expanding once again and in need of a full time Operations Associate to add to our growing staff at our Las Vegas location. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including daily inventory management of items in preparation for a live auction and general customer service duties. Travel for shows, pick-ups, and deliveries required. Applicants must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, able to work independently and work within an inventory database system. Occasional weekends required.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support all auction preparation and operation activities including but not limited to:
  • Travel planning, logistics and organization for meeting with clients and other sales oriented visits
  • Collection items receiving and handling in warehouse and gallery
  • Customer service oriented activities, including communicating and following up with consignors and buyers and engaging and assisting customers in a gallery/office setting as well as on pickups, deliveries and shows in various locations
  • Assist on consignor pickups and buyer deliveries, which may include scheduling, traveling, driving, packing, loading, meeting with clients, obtaining documentation and following up with clients.
  • Assist at antique and collectibles trade shows including show set up, breakdown, item packing and transportation, and acting as a representative of the company
  • Travel to trade shows for various categories of antiques and collectibles while supporting the Sales team in developing relationships and contracts
  • Support management in meeting sales goals through completion of all operations tasks by deadlines
  • Special projects in collection acquisition travel, VIP support, marketing communication, gallery coordination and display, etc.

Potential secondary responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily inventory activities and procedures. This includes filling out contract forms, entering and updating information in our database with a general knowledge of auction categories, tagging incoming consignments, and corresponding with consignors
  • Organizing the facilities, equipment, and physical and electronic records
  • Display setup
  • Shipping
  • Compose general descriptions for use in auction listings
  • Update customer database
  • Handle customer needs regarding bidding (registration in-person, absentee, on-line; payment, returns) and consignment processes (processing, follow-up, contract development) and all related support questions
  • Become an expert in the company ERP system, and contribute to its ongoing data analysis, improvement, and update documentation for consistent use throughout the company
  • Operating online bidding platforms and clerking (recording) bids

Skills/Requirements:

  • Positive attitude, pride in personal and work environment appearance
  • Driver’s license required
  • Good driving record required
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • General knowledge of antiques a plus – must respect the items and their owners and buyers
