Brian Estepp's February Marble Review

What a great group of marbles for our February 26 & 27, 2010 auction! There are 18 original machine-made box sets and the conditions of the marbles in these sets are some of the best I have ever seen. The sale also includes an original box set of handmade marbles from the Louis Muller's & Son Company that is a rare find and probably a once in a lifetime chance to buy any original handmade German box set.

Some other highlights are the great large handmade marbles that are rarely available to purchase. Christensen agate company flames are one of the hardest and most admired marbles to find from this short lived company and Morphy’s has several examples in the February auction.

Included in this Auction is a collection of some very scarce Bagatelle oriental marble boards from the 1870's--1880's. These outstanding marble boards were collected over a 40 year period by the consignor. The graphics are very colorful and the earliest forms of marble play boards to exist.
